🍩 So it’s been an exciting couple of weeks for me. You may have noticed that I haven’t been posting much here, and that’s because I was working on a couple of writing projects that were published recently.
🍩 The first is my story for the Miami Herald on how Tyler Herro has made his third-year leap. I spoke with Herro about his recommitment to his craft, and talked to his offseason trainer and coaches who helped him. The takeaway for me: We all know about his confidence, but Herro’s greatest strength may be his curiosity and willingness to learn.
🍩 The second is my story for The Ringer. I spoke to Victor Oladipo and those around him about his tumble from NBA stardom and his road back from injury.
🍩 On a personal note, seeing my byline associated with both publications was big for me. I’ve been reading the Miami Herald sports section since I was a kid, and getting published at The Ringer had been a goal of mine since Bill Simmons started the site.
🍩 The feedback also showed me that South Florida sports fans are hungry for this in-depth content that they just aren’t getting on a consistent basis. I have found since moving back home that this is my driving force: Trying to give the fans here as much of the content they want and deserve as I can. It really is a passion, and I look forward to doing more. Stay tuned.
🍩 What I’m drinking: Polar Light at Big Bear Brewing Co. in Coral Springs. Cheers!
