5 Things With Milwaukee Bucks Forward Bobby Portis, Who is an 'Animal Crackers-Type of Guy'
The Bucks forward dishes on the difficulties of the NBA schedule and 50 Cent's "BMF" series.
Welcome to “5 Things,” where I ask an NBA player five things and they give me five answers. Today, let’s talk to Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis.
You played in Atlanta last night, playing the second night of a back-to-back tonight in Miami. How difficult is that part of the NBA schedule?
Obviously the travel is probably the most-not-talked-about thing in the league. I think sometimes fans and analysts, they just look at the game and how someone plays — if they play good or play bad. But the travel can have a wear-and-tear on your body. It’s our job not to complain about it, say anything about, because it’s what we signed up for. I know it does have wear-and-tear on some people’s bodies. We get in from games on back-to-backs like this at 3 or 4 in the morning and then you have film at 10 or 11 in the morning and them come back, take a nap. So sometimes the travel is brutal, but it’s what we signed up for, helps take care of the fam and pay the bills so I don’t have no problems with it.
What’s something you can’t travel without?
One thing I always have to take on the road with me… I’m an animal crackers-type of guy. I gotta take my animal crackers with me, and my Lifesaver gummies.
Are the animal crackers frosted or not frosted?
Not frosted. Original.
That’s what’s up.
Yeah.
Favorite shoe you ever played in?
Right now it’s the Kobes. They’re the most comfortable. The 4s, the 5s, the 6s, the 8s. I mix it up on the daily. Every other game, I wear something different. But the Kobes right now. When I was in college, I loved the Jordan 10s.
What’s your cheat meal in the offseason?
Hm. Gotta go with some dessert. Probably just go with some cookies or something. I’m not big on cheatin’ for real but definitely some cookies, some ice cream.
Favorite TV show?
Favorite TV show right now is the “BMF” series that 50 Cent came out with. Season two just started, I think the second episode comes out tonight, too. So definitely watch that when I get back to the room.
